Aurifil 50 Weight Cotton Thread

Aurifil 50 Weight Cotton Thread

Aurifil’s 50wt thread is our most versatile and most popular Cotton thread. 50wt is strong and thin, and results in remarkably flat and crisp seams. While it is wonderful for piecing, subtle quilting & topstitching, and English paper piecing it also works incredibly well for hand pplique, bobbin and machine lace, machine applique, machine embroidery and of cours  machine quilting.

Japanese Embroidery Threads

Kogin and sashiko are traditional Japanese embroidery techniques, one is counted and the other free stitched with a running stitch. The authentic threads are 100% cotton with a matt finish and loose twist. Kogin thread is slightly thicker than sashiko thread and can be split and recombined to achieve greater coverage on more open weave fabrics.
